"Home Away from Home"
We stayed @ the Old Field House for our stop-off to Story Land and Santa's Village. Rod and Linea are just about the nicest people you'd ever meet. Our kids felt right at home here and even commented after a couple of days of StoryLand-ing "when are we going back home?" (to the inn, mind you!) My girls loved the gameroom and Rod and Linea's big pussycat Alaskan Malamute "Teddy" even more. Rooms were clean and neat and Rod's morning waffles are definitely something special! Looking forward to our trip back soon.

"Story Land in New Hampshire"
...After one short break for dinner, we arrived at our accommodations for the weekend, The Old Field House Inn located in Intervale, New Hampshire , just minutes away from Story Land. I must say that staying at this quiet country lodge with hosts and owners Rod and Linea Hopwood was one of our favorite parts of the whole weekend. We were greeted by their lovable and kid-friendly, Alaskan Malamute. I don't know that I have ever met a more friendly and accommodating dog. She was willing to take several hugs a day from my two and a half-year-old daughter. My daughter was also immediately taken by the moose stuffed animals lining the side of the stairs to the second floor.
We set up shop in a two-bedroom suite, perfect for putting the little ones down for bed and allowing mom and dad a few minutes alone to read and watch something on t.v. besides Sesame Street. Before bed, the kids wanted to head out to the swimming pool. I was a bit skeptical since it had been a cold June week and the pool was outside. To our delight, the outdoor pool was heated to a comfortable 85 degrees. Read more...
