Guests of the Old Field House Inn are sure to enjoy the Hartman Model Railroad Museum, located in Intervale, New Hampshire. There is something about boys and trains and at times, they just never seem to separate. This is exactly how the Hartman Railroad Museum was created. Children of all ages will enjoy the museums' many different train layouts. Trains can be seen winding through tunnels, over bridges, and passing through miniature towns. So "all aboard" for a special museum for everyone!
After a visit to the museum, be sure to stop in the gift area where just about anything can be found to develop your own model trains. Train models available include Marklin HO and 1 gauge, Lionel, LGB, and others. Additionally, one can find just about anything that they need to enhance their train model including railroad components, paints, tools, books, magazines, scenic accessories, track, buildings, and the list goes on! However, if your special train component is not available, they will be happy to special order it for you.
When people are planning their vacations they truly want to receive value. Value for many can be seen as a discount in a room rate, but is that a real value? Guests of the Old Field House Inn will not be offered discounts on their room rates, but will be offered true "value added". Let us share with you what guests of the Old Field House Inn receive.
Traditional features are offered including great rooms, TV's, DVD's, DVD library, and a lovely breakfast. But this is only the beginning. In addition, guests will also experience what makes the Old Field House Inn stand apart from other Inns. Guests also enjoy:
A heated 85 degree swimming pool open from 7 A.M. until 10 P.M.;
Outdoor hot tub;
Gas grills for guests to utilize during their stay;
Picnic tables to enjoy the wonders from the grill or the picnic basket;
Fire pit to get the full feel of an evening bond fire;
Game room which is free for all families to use (Rod noted that his mother would be upset if he charged children to play games);
Movie theater and on evenings when there are families, a "G" rated movie begins at 7:30 for the children and this provides the parents with a well needed break;
Hammocks for relaxing and taking an afternoon's nap;
Screened cabanas around the pool.
So come as guests and enjoy the true "value added" amenities the Old Field House Inn enjoys sharing!
I hear it on the radio and I have to smile "this car climbed Mount Washington". It brings back fond memories of being on a family vacation and taking the 8 mile climb up the Auto Road of Mount Washington and hoping on the way down that the brakes were in good condition! But it never failed, as we returned to the bottom of the mountain without any problems. Weather permitting, many families just opt to take the trip via the Cog Railway as it climbs directly to the summit on it 3.1 mile track. There is something to be said for being known as home of the worst weather on earth, but it is a little intriguing and makes you want to experience it for yourself. The view are lovely and we will make sure to only send you during the Summer and Fall months.
Mount Washington has attracted visitors since 1642 and is the Northeast's highest peak. It contains 59 acres and is surrounded by the White Mountain National Forest. On a clear day views extend beyond New Hampshire as far as 130 miles to Vermont, New York, Quebec, Massachusetts, Maine and the Atlantic Ocean. Each year about 250,000 people visit the peak. What are you waiting for?

While visiting the Old Field House Inn, mountain biking in the North Conway region can be enjoyed at many different locations. One of our favorites is at Attitash Mountain. Attitash offers some of the best lift-serviced mountain biking in the area and has a total of over 20 miles of bike trails. Enjoy the ride to the top of the mountain and then get ready for the excitement! Bikers will enjoy the adrenaline rush of racing down the mountain and have access to more than six miles of mixed-trail and single-track downhill terrain for advanced mountain biking. However, if you are new to this sport, Attitash also offers approximately 12 miles of easy-to-moderate trails along the Saco River.
